May We Be Parted

May It Be Parted

Do I learn from my unsure knife,
or the vessel lain
of flesh and bone?

Peel a layer, reveal its signs.
Make your stories shared,
in ruined tone.

No revoke of a wrong-made slice,
so the strain of care
we gracious know.

May You Be Parted

If your days had sorrows dealt,
then it may please you
the scholar’s role.

If your days were fortune filled,
then it has passed through
the student’s goal.

Be teachers of the learning skill,
and your praise is due
for healing more.

May We Be Parted

In a way you were on my side
though you’re unknown
when all is done.

Yet our leaves crossed at a vine
now fallen slow,
and worth more gone.

Still, the weight bears on my mind
for I’ve been told
to carry it on.

Greys or Silvers

Silver or grey
Only the mirror showed.

Grey was the day
that was squander without occurring.
No happiness nor pain
only nil was revealed.

Silver are those days
for which burdens are carried.
That sense of completeness
when dreams could be seen.

When I was broken in the past
I learned misery of fixing.
But there’s fear of a hope
that a new wish commands.

To Fail, Nonetheless

For all I gave
I deserved more.
Know nothing’s owed
so I’m owed none.

Nothing deserves me
for all I give.
Did it all so well.
Well, the well’s run dry.

They assure me now,
for all I’ve got,
“Don’t give in now,
the next shot’s sure.”

Sure, I’d say that too,
for all’s not lost.
But if I could ensure,
why couldn’t I then?
